Heinz supports research into innovative new food supplement

On Thursday, November 8 at The Hospital for Sick Children, The H.J. Heinz Company will announce significant financial support into the research of an innovative supplement that may reduce childhood anemia around the world.

Dr. Stanley Zlotkin, MD, PhD, head of gastroenterolgy and nutrition at The Hospital for Sick Children, will also receive the first H.J. Heinz Humanitarian Award -- presented to individuals and organizations that distinguish themselves by their creativity, originality and insightfulness in providing products or services that improve the quality of life for humankind. Susie Johnson, representative of the H.J. Heinz Company Foundation and wife of the chairman, president and CEO, H.J. Heinz Company, will present Dr. Zlotkin with this award in recognition of the work he has done to advance the nutrition of children.
