Ontario government to announce investment in genomics research

This Wednesday morning, a major new genomics initiative will be announced at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), made possible by the Ontario Research and Development Challenge Fund.

Please join Ontario Energy, Science and Technology Minister Jim Wilson, researchers from The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids)’s Bioinformatics and Genetics programs, such as Dr. Jamie Cuticchia and Dr. Lap-Chee Tsui, and corporate partners for an announcement that will ensure Ontario remains competitive in the important field of genomics research.

WHAT: News conference + tour of DNA sequencing lab, and future home of the Ontario Centre for Genomic Computing

A demonstration of DNA sequencing at the SickKids Centre for Applied Genomics, in which the Minister will participate.

The Minister will present a plaque commemorating the "future home of the Ontario Centre for Genomic Computing" at the SickKids Bioinformatics Supercomputing Centre.
