Employment Opportunities at SickKids for Non-Canadians

Career opportunities are available at SickKids in positions which have been identified as a skill shortage occupation in Canada or when the recruitment of a foreign worker has significant benefits attached. In order for you to work at SickKids, the hospital must obtain approval to hire a Non-Canadian into this position and you must obtain valid employment authorization (EA).

Process for a Non-Canadian to work at SickKids

  1. Receive and accept an offer of temporary employment at SickKids
  2. Provide evidence of the necessary professional accreditation to practice in Ontario to SickKids
  3. SickKids applies for Employment Validation with Human Resources Development Canada
  4. Upon receipt of the Employment Validation, apply for Work Authorization at the Canadian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate in your country of origin
  5. Obtain a Social Insurance Number through Human Resources Development Canada. Information and applications are available at Service Canada.
