Employment Opportunities at SickKids for Non-Canadians
Career opportunities are available at SickKids in positions which have been identified as a skill shortage occupation in Canada or when the recruitment of a foreign worker has significant benefits attached. In order for you to work at SickKids, the hospital must obtain approval to hire a Non-Canadian into this position and you must obtain valid employment authorization (EA).
Process for a Non-Canadian to work at SickKids
- Receive and accept an offer of temporary employment at SickKids
- Provide evidence of the necessary professional accreditation to practice in Ontario to SickKids
- SickKids applies for Employment Validation with Human Resources Development Canada
- Upon receipt of the Employment Validation, apply for Work Authorization at the Canadian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate in your country of origin
- Obtain a Social Insurance Number through Human Resources Development Canada. Information and applications are available at Service Canada.
