Informatics and Technology
Nursing Informatics and Technology is a program that integrates the specialties of nursing, computer and information and technology sciences with experience in order to:
- provide leadership in the advancement of paediatric nursing practice
- support healthcare providers in decision making and care provision across the organization
- positively influence patient outcomes
This is accomplished by applying nursing and other healthcare frameworks/theories in:
- reviewing current practices and anticipating future needs in a climate of rapid technological advancement
- facilitating the integration of information systems, clinical systems and medical technologies into practice through:
- Analysis
- Design
- Testing
- Education
- Implementation
- Continuing support
- Evaluation
- Research activities
