About the MLT Symposium
In today’s healthcare environment of rapid change, human resource shortages, fiscal constraints, new technologies, and high expectations for quality and patient safety, laboratory staff are encouraged to innovate, propose new ideas, and challenge the status quo. They have to regard themselves as leaders and contributors in the lab from the moment they begin their careers.
Paediatric Laboratory Medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) offers a bi-annual Medical Laboratory Technology Symposium that aims to inspire laboratory staff and students, and help them discover how they can each make a difference and contribute to excellence and quality for self, organization, and profession.
The intent is to cultivate and support the growth of emerging leaders from the bench and engage a passion for creating solutions and new paradigms to continually advance laboratory medicine within healthcare.
