Research Ethics Board
The REB is responsible for the ethical assessment and approval of all research involving human subjects at SickKids, or research conducted offsite by SickKids researchers. They are mandated to approve, reject, propose modifications to, or terminate any proposed or ongoing research. REB reviews are conducted in accordance with hospital policies, national guidance documents and relevant laws.
Research ethics certification is mandatory for all investigators and research team members, and no application will be approved or renewed without evidence of certification.
