About Kids Science

In the summer of 2006, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) with help from the Ontario government created Kids Science, a program designed to inspire students to make informed post-secondary education and career choices in the fields of science and technology. Kids Science provides scientific and technological opportunities through a number of activities including speakers' bureaus, lab visits at SickKids, and the annual Science Extravaganza, a two-day encounter with science hosted at SickKids.

Since its inception, Kids Science has reached almost 1,500 students from all over Ontario. By the summer of 2008, over 450 students have visited the SickKids' laboratories, 230 students from all over Ontario have attended the Science Extravaganza, and over 750 students have participated in our interactive speakers' bureau presentations.
