Phase 1 of Emergency renovations complete!
We are pleased to announce that phase 1 of our Emergency Department (ED) renovations period is over and phase 2 has begun. The renovated area opened to the public on March 4, 2009. It is fully functional, has bigger patient rooms for your comfort and care, enhanced security and infection control, and modern procedure rooms.
Phase 2 of 3 is expected to be completed by late summer.
Plans for renovating began after a Bell Canada announcement of a five-year commitment to SickKids. The funds will go towards enhancing patient care and other high-priority needs in the ED, which include improving the patient and family experience during emergency visits.
