Details: | Topic: Long-term neurodevelopment of children exposed in utero to antidepressant medications: separating the effect of the drug from the effects of maternal depression Presented by: Dr. Irena Nulman, MD Dr. Nulman is a neurologist with a focus and expertise in psychopharmacology and behavioural teratology. For more than 15 years her clinical research has centred on behavioural teratology and on long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes of children exposed during pregnancy to maternal conditions (including those of genetic origin) or environmental hazards (medications, drug of abuse, radiation, infections). Specifically, she investigates the reproductive safety of psychotropic drugs (antidepressants, antiepileptics, immunosuppressives, antihistamines, alcohol and other drugs of abuse), providing unique, evidence-based information for the pregnant woman and healthcare providers.
