Details: | Comparative Effectiveness of Interventions for Preschoolers with ADHD or Disruptive Behavior
Objectives: - To describe the GRADE approach to evaluating Strength of Evidence for the purpose of comparing effectiveness of interventions - To share an example of a Comparative Effectiveness Review from the U.S. Agency for Healthcare, Research and Quality (AHRQ) regarding interventions for preschool children with disruptive behavior, including ADHD. This research provided the evidence for some of the changes in the guidelines for treatment of ADHD released by the American Academy of Pediatrics in October 2011.

Dr. Alice Charach is an Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto, and Associate Scientist in the Child Health Evaluative Sciences Program, Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute. She leads the Neuropsychiatry Team, Department of Psychiatry, at SickKids, which specializes in assessment and treatment of children and youth with attention, learning and behavior difficulties. Her research interests focus on long-term outcomes for young children with ADHD, and treatment adherence in children and teens with ADHD.
